Which Hat Suits Me

†††

IF THE HAT FITS WEAR IT! There is a hat style to suit every face. Now, as in centuries past (when everyone wore a hat), Christys’ extensive collection of felt trilbies, panamas or casual caps - contains at least one style and colour that will suit your face shape and skin tone. So what’s your style? It helps to know what shape your face is, and most likely it’s one of these six :–

Square FaceWide-Diamond ShapeHeart Shaped FaceRound FaceOval FaceLong and Slender Face Firstly, always consider crowns that align with the widest part of your face, irrespective of face shape. Then the general rule of thumb would be – Square: To balance a squarer face, hats that have a high crowns, either round or square, as with as a well curled or wide brim, will look good. A Christys’ Knightsbridge, Kimberley or Present panama would be perfect. Wear the hat flat or forward Wide or Diamond: The wider forehead can be balanced perfectly with a great hat. A medium to fuller crown and profile brim will look good. Off the face cap styles, such as the Breton, will also work well. Heart-shaped face: As with the oval shaped face, most of our hats are well suited to work with the gentle curves and angles of this shape of face. A medium brim is perfect. Round face: People with a round face tend to have a wider jaw which should be balanced when choosing a hat. Try to select a full crown hat, such as the Christys’ Knox or Henley trilbies with a crown at least as wide as your face. Choose a medium to narrow brim width. Why not try an irregular shaped brim/crown such as a Bridget? Oval face: Most of our hats and caps will suit this style of face – so don’t hold back!.. Long and Slender faces: The aim is not to add further height – so the lower, tapered crown such as a Christys’ Kent trilby is ideal. Select a medium straight brim. Many cap styles, such as Christys’ Spectator – with a strong peak, can look great
